How the Travel Clinic Works

You book a time, bring your itinerary, and sit down with a pharmacist. They will review where you are going, when, and for how long, alongside your immunization history and the medications you already take.

Anything the pharmacist administers is given in person at the pharmacy counter during the same visit, or at a follow-up time you arrange together.

Travel Vaccines We Administer

Among the vaccines available at our pharmacy, these are the ones most often arranged through the travel clinic:

• Hepatitis A — including the hepatitis A and B combination, and the typhoid with hepatitis A combination
• Hepatitis B
• Japanese encephalitis
• Meningococcal
• Typhoid

What to Bring

• Your itinerary and travel dates
• Your immunization record, if you have one
• A list of the medications you currently take
• Your Ontario health card

Booking, and What It Costs

Call (519) 742-9955 or ask at the pharmacy counter to arrange a time before you travel. A travel consultation takes longer than a walk-in vaccine, so it is worth booking rather than dropping in.

The consultation itself is free. The vaccines are a separate matter — travel vaccines are generally chargeable, and what you pay depends on which ones you and the pharmacist decide on. Ask about the cost of a particular vaccine when you book, or at the start of your appointment, so there is nothing unexpected at the end of it.
