Matcha and matcha powder

Matcha is green tea milled to a fine powder, whisked into water or milk rather than steeped and strained — so the leaf itself is what ends up in the cup. That one difference is why matcha has its own shelf here rather than sitting inside the tea aisle.

The range runs from ceremonial-style powders for drinking straight to blends built for lattes and baking. If you are choosing between them: a powder is the whole-leaf route and wants a quick whisk; the bag blends are ordinary steeping with a matcha note. Tub sizes are small on purpose — matcha is best bought in amounts you will finish while it is fresh and green.

We are an independent store and the range is picked by the people who work here.
